Turning fiction into reality.

Welcome to the workshop!
My name is Kiara Tymec and I’m an artist with a passion for bringing fiction to life.

I grew up always interested in the arts, mainly taking an interest in portraiture and 2D art at a young age. Throughout my school years I pursued classes such as AP Art, 3D media and video editing classes, as well as dove into the fabrication world with several modeling, shop and STEM based classes. Around 8th grade, I developed a passion for learning how things worked and wanted to create my own inventions after watching Iron Man. I built my first “arc reactor” and was instantly hooked. I currently attend Columbia College Chicago, where I am pursuing a BFA in Production Design, and will be graduating in Fall of 2023.

My goal is to bring practicality back and make functional costumes and props, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. I always strive for that WOW factor in my builds and pay high attention to details.

I am experienced with foam construction, 3d printing, laser engraving/CNC, 2D art and graphics, paint applications, hand carving, wiring/programming, and CAD. I am working to improve my 3D modeling and rendering skills but have some experience in Blender and Fusion360.
