NETFLIX’S: DAREDEVIL COWL BUILD PROCESS PHOTO SLIDESHOW Raw print after removing supports from top of the cowl (printed in bowl orientation). File by DO3D. Print quality close up - the level of detail achieved with a .4 nozzle on my Creality Ender 3. Test fit to see alignment of eyes and general proportions - not scaled to fit my head since it was a commission, but still fit really well. After several rounds of sanding with 80 grit, 120 grit and 220 grit with filler primer coats in between, the cowl was wet sanded and cleaned of all dust. Final filler primer coat. This was a tricky spot for finishing since the supports damaged the surface area. After several layers of bondo and sanding, the surface was smooth again. Final filler primer coat. A black gloss base was applied to prepare for the final cranberry red finish. The final cranberry red gloss coat was applied over the black gloss coat. After applying a matte clear coat finish on the cranberry red, this was the finish of the top of the cowl. The cowl dried for about 12 hours before I considered applying the black detail lines. Another angle of the finish on the cowl before black detailing.
